The site is a former Catholic
Cathedral which already had
planning consent for 50no.
apartments when it was acquired
by Urban Creation. We took the
scheme back through the
planning process and obtained
consent for 82no. apartments
and 5,000 sq ft of offices.
Following difficulties in the
residential funding climate,
we returned to the planners
and gained a revised consent
for a 233-bed student scheme,
with 5,000 sq ft of offices.
After this we sold the site
to Student Castle - a
London-based student operator.

We always believed in this fantastic project - the first use of a cathedral in the UK for residential
accommodation.
 And knew it was a tough one to get right. Initially we gained planning consent for
82 apartments and 5,000 sq ft of offices and took them successfully to the market in 2007.
Following an inspired awareness campaign we sold the first release of 28 apartments in a matter
of hours.
We supported a revolutionary Arts and Circus Group to develop a series of over 60
amazing 'events' whilst the ground works were completed and partnered the Channel 4 in filming
and significant launch events for Bristol grown 'Skins'. |
